Your job

Together with a team of experienced colleagues, you work on strategic and financial issues for the senior management of the division Functions of ABN AMRO. Strategic issues are diverse: how is profitable growth achieved? How can costs and risks be optimized and controlled? How should the component prepare to be future-proof? You come up with proposals to improve the performance of the business and provides relevant insight and advice. For this you use different sources of expertise within one outside your team to arrive at the most suitable solutions.

  • As a Business Controller you are an integral part of the MTs under your responsibility.
  • As a Finance business partner (sparring partner) you are directly involved in the strategic decision. You are encouraged to give your opinion and your financial expertise to share within the team.
  • Together with your colleagues in Financial Control, you convert data into insights that help the business. You focus on presenting data-driven insights and advice based on facts.
  • Along this line you are able to help the business set up KPIs and follow the progress to create more impact.
  • You are able to help the business build business cases, the financial understand implications of business decisions and ensure they are correct included in the final business case.
  • Prepare budget and forecast for the Function under your responsibility.
  • Track benefits, prepare analytics for management and board as needed.

Working environment

You are part of the Business Controlling team of Functions. Functions consist of various parts, such as Finance, Risk, HR, Workplace Management, Audit, Legal, Brand, Marketing and Communication, Strategy, Sustainability and Innovation.
You work closely with senior management to achieve strategic and tactical objectives formulate and translate these into execution. In this you connect strategic progress and financial results. You do this in collaboration with the Financial Controller. In addition, you build a constructive working relationship with the Management to prepare good forecasts and to collect facts with which you can determine the business challenge.

Your profile

You are critical and you don't just let yourself be knocked out of the field. What matters is that your entrepreneurship wins over the resistance you encounter along the way. We think it is just as important that you can work together. In addition, having knowledge of the business you work for is crucial and experience at the business is definitely an advantage.

  • Higher education, preferably in the field of Business Economics /Finance.
  • Experience in Controlling and affinity with complex financial analysis.
  • Communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • You are able to present well and convince stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and experience with scenario analysis.
  • Knowledge of the business and the market in which the organization operates.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the field of strategic advice.
  • You know how to deal effectively with resistance and questions from stakeholders.
  • Excel, PowerPoint and preferably PowerBI have virtually no secrets for you.
