Job Description & Summary
PwC Advisory Risk & Quality Team is looking for a director who can help us develop our practice, help our talents grow and deliver high quality processes, procedures and controls for the entire Advisory organization. In joining us, you will be supporting a unique proposition, interacting with the project team within Advisory, assisting our organisation understand and challenge the extent to which their governance arrangements, systems, processes and people assist or inhibit their strategies to generate value.

Responsibilities
The role of Risk & Quality Director within Advisory focuses on the provision of policy and guidance to our Advisory colleagues in respect of a number of regulatory and risk areas, including: Business Conduct and Ethics, Data Protection, Client and Engagement acceptance and Anti-Money Laundering. Together with our legal councils and Independence specialists, we provide support to the Advisory practice and we have the responsibility for monitoring the compliance with policies and procedures.

The Advisory Risk & Quality team, currently comprising six people, has a vital role to play in PwC’s growth agenda, whilst protecting our reputation and brand. An important aspect of the role is to coach and help develop the R&Q team, build a network of partners and staff across the firm in close cooperation with the wider PwC network in Europe.

Requirements
We are looking for a director who is solutions-focused, is skilled at building relationships, enjoys being at the heart of change, wants to be part of a relevant, cohesive, vibrant and growing team and has the potential and ambition for further personal development.

The role requires a senior personality with the capacity to make decisions and with strong analytical, organizational and project management skills. You must be confident in liaising with individuals at all levels throughout the firm including partners and board members, as well as managing internal relationships, leading yourself and others, be able to deliver difficult messages and ultimately enjoy acquiring (and sharing) new knowledge.

Furthermore, we are searching for a professional with:

  • at a minimum 10-15 years of experience in a professional services firm and/or risk & compliance environment;
  • a strong but empathetic leadership style;
  • enthusiasm and the ability to motivate and inspire the team;
  • the ability to establish immediate credibility among leadership, clients and our team members;
  • strong consulting skills (strong in communication, stakeholder management and result-oriented);
  • a Master degree (e.g. Law, Economics, Chartered Accountant).

A degree of understanding of our (regulatory) environment would be beneficial. Equally, in light of our focus on technology, experience in technology would be beneficial. However, since the role has a strong focus on business support to the firm in a complex and changing regulatory environment we find it far more important that you have a willingness to learn, client service mentality, excellent coaching and communication skills and eagerness to join a dynamic team.
