FEC Monitoring Officer and Centre of Expertise Lead - NN

As FEC Monitoring Officer you will define a monitoring strategy in collaboration with the FEC Compliance Officers overseeing and supporting the Dutch and International Business Units as well as relevant Corporate Staff Departments.

The Financial and Economic Crime of Expertise (FEC CoE) supports, oversees and monitors adequacy of the FEC frameworks within NN’s Dutch and International Businesses and relevant staff departments and maintains a community of NN FEC Compliance Officers. Within this FEC CoE we are looking for a senior Monitoring and CoE Lead.

This job offers you a (gross) monthly salary between € 6.170 and € 8.800 depending on your experience. This is based on a 36-hour work week, excluding a 13th month and holiday allowance.

Your impact as FEC Monitoring Officer and Centre of Expertise Lead at NN

As FEC Monitoring Officer you will define a monitoring strategy in collaboration with the FEC Compliance Officers overseeing and supporting the Dutch and International Business Units as well as relevant Corporate Staff Departments. You will specifically advice, plan and execute the monitoring in the Dutch Business and report on the outcome, including action driven recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

As FEC CoE lead you will coordinate the overall activities within the Center of Expertise. This includes preparation of yearly priority setting and planning in collaboration with the FEC Compliance Officers at Group and Business Units, and other disciplines within the Compliance teams. You will also follow-up and report on progress and periodically revaluate the priorities and planning.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop a group-wide monitoring strategy on design and operating effectiveness of local FEC Frameworks
  • Plan and execute monitoring on the FEC Frameworks of the Business Units and relevant Staff Departments
  • Prepare the annual priorities and planning for the FEC CoE aligned with the overall Compliance plan
  • Follow-up on progress and actively participate in the periodic priority-setting process in the Compliance team throughout the year.  Assess and manage the impact on the individual planning of the FEC CoE members.

Who you are

  • You have a Master’s degree (or comparable) in Law, Business or other relevant field
  • You have a minimum of 8 years working experience in the field of Financial and Economic Crime in the financial services industry. This preferably includes experience in an independent control function like Compliance or Audit.
  • You have expert knowledge on monitoring and audit techniques
  • You are able to functionally lead a team of experts and transversally align with senior stakeholders within an organization.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English

Your colleagues

The NN Corporate Compliance team consists of 30+ employees, managed by the Chief Compliance Officer with 4 managers, being Heads of the 4 teams. The team is organised via a matrix model and  consists of employees that support and oversee the business and develop and while maintaining cross-team Group-wide Centers of Expertise.

The FEC CoE is driven by FEC experts that closely work together and support both direct colleagues as well as FEC Compliance Officers and experts within NN’s Business Units.  You will report directly to the Head of Oversight and Support Netherlands.
