Financial Reporting Analyst Solvency II

In this position you will bring management information to the next level. You will report in your own enthusiastic and hands on way to the manager of the Solvency II Analysis team within Finance of NN Life and Pensions. A challenging deadline is what gets the best out of your skillset. You will be part of a team that consists of 5 reporting professionals. The Solvency II Analysis team reports market value related metrics for the whole balance sheet of NN Life & Pensions.

Your impact as Financial Reporting Analyst Solvency II at NN

As Financial Reporting Analyst Solvency II, you create and prepare reports with relevant Solvency II and other market value information, like OF, OCG, SII ratio, IFRS RAT. These reports contain management information for internal and external stakeholders. Having strong analytical ability, you will quickly get to the core of issues and topics. Your communication skills allow you to articulate complex issues clearly. Working with deadlines is your driver for an excellent performance.

Your responsibilities

In your role you are able to work as a lead in projects, while you also manage to create and solve challenges on your own.

Your tasks and that of the Solvency II Analysis team include amongst others:

  • Pro-activity, flexibility and accuracy are key elements of the role, and you are expected to play your part in the different reports delivered by the Solvency II Analysis team
  • You will interact with your team members, cross-functional teams and external partners on a regular basis, e.g. Own Fund & capital generation (OCG-) reporting, projects for improving the Solvency II Analysis, solving complex Solvency II and market value related issues and establishing improved Solvency II processes and key ratios
  • You have extensive knowledge of the market value of both assets and liabilities on the balance sheet
  • You pay attention to detail with the right prioritization, but know when to switch to the greater picture
  • Deliver in depth financial and management information on a regular and ad hoc basis and at the same time making these in-depth analyses easy to understand for different internal and external stakeholders
  • Sparring partner for complex finance topics and actuarial related questions

Who you are

  • Academic Master degree in Actuarial sciences, Economics, Econometrics or similar.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the insurance industry within the actuarial, finance, and risk domain.
  • Extensive experience in Solvency II valuation and reporting (IFRS RAT, SII Balance Sheet, Own Funds and SCR) is required.
  • Experience with (Operating) Capital Generation.
  • Positive critical thinking and a pro-active mentality to get things done.
  • Strong ability in actuarial mathematics and concepts, the capacity to analyze data and draw relevant conclusions out of it.
  • Team player with hands-on attitude, flexibility to deal with changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills (in both Dutch and English) to facilitate communication with peers and stakeholders.
  • Being used to working within a finance and risk environment, in which flexible and clear planning, working under pressure and obtaining results are key.

Your colleagues

The Solvency II Analysis team is an established team with a proven track record within the Finance department of NN Life and Pensions. The team predominantly works from the NN office in Rotterdam. We are responsible for delivering in-depth Solvency II financial and management information and are the sparring partner for related actuarial questions with different stakeholders, e.g. actuarial function holder, internal and external auditors, liability reporting colleagues, and risk colleagues.
