Financial Risk Reporting Analyst - ING

Locatie: Amsterdam

The Financial Risk Reporting squad is looking for an experienced reporting analyst to support in its risk reporting activities and who enjoys being the driving force behind streamlining and strengthening of related processes.

In this role you will have the opportunity to support critical Market and Credit Risk reports to internal and external parties such as the Bank’s Risk Committees, senior Risk Management, Supervisors and Finance. You have a finance or risk background, strong excel skills and enjoy aggregating information from a variety of sources and creating insightful risk reports for our stakeholders. Working in the Financial Risk Reporting squad will give you the opportunity to get a thorough understanding of (the development of) ING Bank’s Risk profile and offers excellent opportunities for personal development and growth.

You further strengthen the team by bringing in knowledge of/experience with process control frameworks (e.g. BCBS239, SOX, standards on regulatory reporting etc ) and the ability to implement these into governance and process controls. You will work closely with (senior) staff of both Risk and Finance, and interact with business line teams for specific requests.

Job description
As a financial risk reporting analyst you:

  • Prepare high quality and accurate Risk reports in a timely manner to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Respond to ad-hoc inquiries from our stakeholders (Risk Management, Finance, Regulators, Auditors);
  • Contribute to further improvement/automating reporting processes;
  • Further strengthen the governance and control environment on reporting process in line with internal and external control requirements (implement internal control, SOX, BCBS239 User Defined Application requirements etc.).
  • Monitor, analyse and report on concentrations and trends in the risk profile;

Your work environment:
The Financial Risk Reporting (FRR) squad is part of the Reporting, Data & Analytics (RDA) tribe, which on its turn is part of the ING Risk COO domain. RDA provides reporting, analysis and data quality assurance & governance services to internal and external stakeholders. RDA consist of an international and enthusiastic team with the purpose of:

  • providing stakeholders with fit-for-purpose risk reports and analyses;
  • bringing risk reporting to the next level by driving standardisation and sourcing, working together with the squad members in Manila;
  • supporting the analytical capabilities within Risk with a platform, data, and analytical skills;
  • acting as guardian for the Risk data.

RDA adopted the One Agile Way of Working in which various squads and chapters have been defined. These are high performing, self-organising teams each with their own purpose. The current vacancy resides in the Financial Risk Reporting squad.

Openness in communication and “can do” mentality are important characteristics of the department.

Who we are looking for (expertise)?

  • Master in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related field;
  • 2- 3 year experience in Finance or Risk reporting of a Financial Institution;
  • Familiar with applicable Basel regulations like Basel III/ CRD IV, and able to apply in day to day activities;
  • Experience with Data aggregation and Reporting control frameworks like BCBS239, SOX, internal control standards;
  • Strong Excel/VBA skills;
  • Experience and drive to optimise processes;
