What will you be doing?
In the Consulting ESG team within CIPS (Commercial & Industrial Products & Services), we help companies to determine, realize and report on their sustainability ambitions. We advise both small and large companies in all kinds of commercial sectors such as retail & consumer markets, energy, utilities & resources, industrial manufacturing & automotive and technology, media & telecommunications.
As a Senior Associate ESG Reporting & Insights you will focus primarily on client projects at the intersection of ESG, Finance and Data. The clients that you support deal with numerous challenges related to ESG reporting and performance management. Internal and external stakeholders expect more transparency on their ESG performance, the availability of non-financial reporting data is often a problem and questions arise whether organizations are structured adequately to face these challenges.
Examples of client projects that you could be working on are:

Designing a company’s ESG / non-financial information reporting strategy;

Defining the ideal governance structure of ESG reporting within an organization;

Detailing out a transformation roadmap for organizations to cope with the increased requirements from ESG (reporting) regulations, such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD);

Helping clients to set up organizational processes for CSRD (and other ESG reporting standards such as EU Taxonomy, TCFD, GRI, etc.).
Who are you?

You are interested in sustainability and non-financial reporting developments and can show this by means of previous experience and/or education and training;

You have a Master degree at university level, preferably in Finance, Economics, Data & Analytics, Accounting, Business Administration and/or Control; or in a field such as Sustainable Finance, Sustainable Business & Innovation or Sustainability Reporting and Performance Management;

You have excellent academic results and/or relevant extracurricular activities on your resume;

You are a team player with strong communication skills;

You are interested in and aware of important ESG developments, e.g. around net zero, circularity and sustainable supply chains as well as around sustainability regulations and reporting frameworks;

You are proactive, curious and critical by nature, always interested in challenging the status quo and finding practical and creative solutions;

You have at least 3 years of work experience in a role such as:

(Large-scale) transformation projects related to ESG and/or (non-)financial management or external reporting at a corporate or in the commercial sector, and/or;
-
Consulting (either at a consulting company or internal consulting) focused on ESG and/or (non-)financial management or external reporting.
