ESG has been high on the agendas of many companies for years. From the impact of the energy transition, human rights issues, safety and exclusivity of employees to sustainable and insightful value chains: ESG covers a wide range of topics. Companies are expected to measure and report on their ESG performance. This requires reliable information regarding the achievement of ESG objectives and whether the reporting is in line with international standards. CSRD compliance will play an important role in the near future within the EU as many large companies will be seeking assurance on their non-financial information.

Jouw uitdagingen

As an ESG Assurance Manager, you work with colleagues from different departments and countries on assignments for multiple international clients.
As a manager you are a spider in the web between the customer, colleagues and specialists in various fields such as CO2 emissions, safety, human rights and innovation.
You lead teams in which automated web, data and text analysis tools are used to verify the report is an accurate and complete representation of reality.
You also have a lot of conversations with customers to understand their processes and to investigate whether measures are needed to ensure that the information in the report is correct. With the same goal, you go on site visits to your customers in different countries.
In addition to assurance assignments, you are also involved in assignments for clients, especially in the field of ESG reporting and CSRD compliance.

Due to the increased requirements for ESG reports and the increasing importance for the external audit profession, we are expressly looking for colleagues who want to take KPMG as a company further in the area of Assurance on ESG information.

You have completed an academic education in a relevant field. A Postmaster Register Accountant training (or equivalent such as CPA) is an advantage. You have experience in independently carrying out (Assurance) assignments as a team leader. In addition, you have a broad interest and a sharp eye for results and the wishes of our clients.

You have strong communication skills (Dutch and English), you’re commercially and conceptually strong and you have an understanding of project management and consultancy skills.
You have an affinity with data analysis and you are skilled with Excel
You have an affinity with reporting and ESG
You have a relevant degree in finance (accounting/economics), chemical engineering, social sciences, sciences, geography, geology (or similar). It is a pre if you have obtained a postgraduate qualification (relevant to the Sustainability Assurance domain) and/or have participated in courses covering technical skills and knowledge of sustainability assurance and the applicable reporting frameworks.
You have 5 to 9 years of work experience, preferably also in the field of assurance/ ESG reporting.
Your location is Amstelveen, but are you also willing to travel.

You are part of KPMG's Sustainability team consisting of more than 100 ESG specialists, who provide both assurance and advisory services.
